The Greek Carers Network EPIONI, supports informal carers of people with a chronic illness or disability. The organisation is a member of the European network Eurocarers, and aims to the education, the empowerment and the networking among informal carers – who are mainly family members. EPIONI organizes educational seminars with Greek and international speakers. Its goal is the promotion of the needs of the informal carers, such as education, flexible working schedules, carer allowance and remote employment. It participates in the European programme of good practices exchanges of carers with entities from France, Ireland and Belgium Learn4Carers. Moreover, the members of EPIONI participate in a monthly recreation programme.
